Overall Impression:
Kicking things off with an acoustic guitar riff that sounds like it was molded from Mississippi mud, Jason Lee Cook presents his heartfelt and anthemic original song, Country To The Bone! Jason's powerful, clarion vocals mingle with organic and electric instrumentations as Country To The Bone deftly shifts between an easy Rock Country feel and a break-neck double-time adrenaline-fueled celebration of Jason Lee Cook's rural heritage!
Strongest Point(s):
Really wonderful sounds in this recording! Everything feels very polished and professional, the vocals, the instrumentals and the mix all shine here. Jason's voice is incredible - very clear and colorful, and not the least bit strained or overdriven. Almost effortless! Beginning with that guitar riff is a classic move, and a wise one in this context - and tying the song off with that lone fiddle feels absolutely perfect for the tone and feel of Country To The Bone. The shifts into and out of the double-time chorus are very musically satisfying, and pretty energizing! Really strong work!
Target Audience Appeal:
Jason Lee Cook's sound and style are sure to appeal to fans of Country music no matter what sub-genre they prefer or background they come from, and the lyrical message and instrumental performances contained in Country To The Bone serve to reinforce that unifying thread with skill! Easily radio ready and full of authentic Country energies, Country To The Bone stands to draw a wide range of listeners towards the work of Jason Lee Cook! - Jon W.
